During his time at FAMU, he served in various roles including webcast editor, associate producer for FAMU TV-20, on-air personality for 90.5 “The Flava Station,” and staff writer for the Famuan newspaper, where he eventually became opinions section editor. Newton furthered his experience through the student practicum program for FAMU’s Medical Marijuana Education and Research Initiative, creating communication projects and graphic videos. After graduating from FAMU, Newton pursued further education at Florida State University, earning a Master of Science degree in Professional Communications with a focus on Integrated Marketing and Management Communication in 2023. Throughout his graduate studies, he completed a communications assistant residency with Blake High School in Tampa and began working in FAMU's undergraduate student success department as an academic programs and marketing coordinator. These roles ignited his passion for communications within academic and educational environments.

Newton’s personal brand is centered around being simplistic, but effective – simply storytelling. Newton’s goal in every communications project he is a part of is to get the message across to the audience in a way that is simple to grasp. He also believes that you should work to inform your audience and leave no unanswered questions by being as specific and concise as possible. He is often requested for work on projects because of his minimalist, yet intentional style.

Newton continues to sharpen his skills as a communicator through various projects. He often does work including freelancing, researching, creating graphics, and consulting with different individuals and organizations throughout the state of Florida. He hopes to pursue a PhD in Communications or a similar area in the future.
